So you bought a new phone and the first thing you notice after you set it up is… Bloatware, apps that are completely useless unless you want to make a Guinness world record for having the most number of apps on your phone.

I mean, I’m not exaggerating or anything but like I don’t know every freaking Samsung phones with TouchWiz comes with 2 Calculator & Clock apps, Not to forget 3-4 Different types of message apps like Hangouts, etc. And this gets even worse if you buy a phone from a carrier. Cough Cough AT&T

Stuff like these really slows down your navigation as they clutter all over your app drawer making it hard for you to find the app you want.

But since there’s not a way to remove those apps without Rooting your phone, A lot of people just gets used to it. And other smart people like you click on these types of posts.
Hey, What’s going on guys? My name is Akash, and today I’m back with another tech post, this time, doing a quick little tutorial over this “How to hide/Disable Useless apps on android“. I hope you find this tutorial helpful and if you did, care to share this trick with your friends so that they know that you know that what I know. Let’s Start!
If you want a tutorial on how to remove those apps & free up your storage space check out this guide – How To Increase Internal Storage On Android By Uninstalling Unwanted Apps
Requirements
In order to pull this off, you need these things prepared before you start the tutorial.
  • QuickShortcutMaker you can download it From Here, Or from the download box below.
  • Phone with MIUI8 installed.
Method One:

1: Download and open the QuickShortcutMaker app

2: In the search box type “Installed” and hit search.

3: Select the highlighted ($ManageApplicationsActivity)option and tap “Create”.

4: A settings icon will be created on the home screen.

5: Tap the icon and select the app which you want to disable (for eg. Hangouts).

6: Tap Disable (it may ask to uninstall the updates, just uninstall the update and disable the app).

There you go! If you’ve followed everything correctly every useless app that you chose will be gone from the app drawer but like I said earlier, This method will not remove the apps so keep that in mind.
Method Two: Easier Way
If you think downloading an extra app specifically for this is a bit of a burden then you can short this whole activity by replacing your stock launcher with Nova Launcher and hiding the icons via the widget feature. Plus the Nova Launcher is an awesome launcher it’s one of my favorites!
